This was my old traditional setup. My older MacBook pro with my Maschine connected to a soundcard and then to the club or house mixer. I used this setup for years literal years like maybe over 10. And then i got my dream controller which is a traktor kontrol s8. It's not the latest one, but its my favourite one. There are plenty of interesting ones out there which have the latest this or that however the controller im talking about has really cool screens and has the entire functionality of the software mapped to some hardware control. This means that I don't have to touch my computer basically. Sometimes if i want to search for something specific then i will but otherwise there was just no need to touch the computer or even look at it really.
I still have that laptop and buy when i tell you its noisy as heck. When i turn it on, the disk drive makes this gnarly sound and it'll chew up anything I put in it for sure
I'm thinking of buying an external drive for burning CDs again because I'm starting to see that these are going to be relevant again. I used to have ALL THE CD's man in that huge book that people would keep in their cars and also a cd change. Those were the days. If you had a cd burner, you were killing it. Make mixes for people and really that was the start of DJing i think.
Enjoy this blueness
